The top 3 reasons why we feel the need to hide the things we are most passionate about?

Why do we shy away from it? Not speak about what we are actually interested in and what truly gets us excited?

What are we worried about?

Judgment - what will people think if I share my ideas, my interests and values. Will they change their perception of me? How will I be viewed?

Failure - what if I open up, share my interests and passion and maybe even completely change my career or start a side hustle but I fale? What does that mean for me?

Identity - but I have been the person that does XYZ my whole career, it is too late to change my identity, who I am and what I do? What is the point? And what does that say about me?

But what if… sharing your passions, your ideas and interests changed your life?

What if…

It opened you up to new opportunities you never saw before? For example, maybe you can work on a different project or move to a different area of the business - it does not mean you need to completely change your career, it may mean, you can bring that interest and passion to your current job. It may mean other people jump on the opportunity too.

You inspired others to do the same, they saw how you are allowing your interests and passion to direct your career and they also want that. You are changing people's lives by simply living yours with intention.

You bring meaning and purpose to your career, and life? You work in a space that you feel so connected with it pains you to think back to when you worked in a role that was meaningless. Your energy, motivation and drive is alive and you feel so connected to who you are and what you do, it is addictive.

Only good things come from connecting with your passion, your interests and what brings meaning to your life. Feeling connected to who you are is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
