I believe everyone has the right to love what they do. I believe if you have a dream you can do it no matter how unrealistic, impossible or crazy that dream may be. I believe in love, compassion, peace and health.
I believe that if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life.
White blanks pages represents those long days, late nights and hard work sitting in front of a ‘white blank page’. Clock is ticking, due date is progressing and… you got nothin’!
I am here to help you build on that blank page… turn it into something meaningful… something professional… something that will jump off the page!
I do this by guiding you in your careers, giving advice that sometimes may seem quite random but useful, delving into what you are actually good at (and making you look good – it sounds strange but it is often hard to do yourself and you will be amazed by how good you actually are) and giving fuel to your pen, or keyboard.
Think careers, think advice, think man… I wish I knew that before I blew it at the interview, think I wonder what it would be like to work as a ‘… permission to dream big and open your mind to what may seem impossible or completely out of reach’
so, my question to you is… what do you want to do when you grow up…?
Im Claire Colebeck and here to help you find that out.
I am here to help you put clarity in your career, give direction, inspiration and motivation. And to share some weird, wonderful and absolutely fabulous (and not so fabulous) careers that are out there in this big wide and wonderful world…
If you are anything like me, you want to do it all. And you want to do it now.
The teenage Claire wanted to be Rachel Green from Friends (ultra-cool wardrobe from the 90s) and work for Ralph Lauren. Be a stylist, mainly because when people ask ‘what do you do’ I can say – stylist.. now doesn’t that sound cool. I wanted to be a teacher and to really teach, then be the principal. I wanted work in hospitality but not just any bar/hotel, work at the best hotel in town. I wanted to be a flight attendant and travel the world. I wanted to be a marketing manager for the sexiest retail outlet around like Myer or Mimco – oh, hang on, no I wanted to be a brand manager for a products like Apple or Clinique.
And of course (as did every other teenager in town) I wanted to have a column in the newspaper and be Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City – I wanted to be fabulous.
What do I actually do?
